Deciding on the style of your wedding can be such a difficult decision when planning your big day. You only get to live this special occasion once, so you want it to be absolutely perfect.
Having flipped through and studied numerous wedding magazines you might find yourself with even more ideas than when you started. Should you go classic and elegant, maybe shabby chic or perhaps fairy tale? It’s a tough choice to make, and many brides-to-be find themselves torn between themes and styles right up until they need to start making decisions – at which point, time can be running out to get everything ready!
So why not make the decision simpler and pick your venue first? Let it inspire you, your ideas and your visions for the day. So many venues tell a unique story and the Montagu Arms does just this.
Welcome to your traditional English Rose inspired wedding
Filled with authenticity, nostalgia and traditional English charm, this 17th century country house hotel will set the scene for your romantic, intimate wedding among your nearest and dearest. Boasting nothing but the finest Michelin star cuisine, first class service and picturesque gardens, your guests will be in awe of their surroundings.
Set in the sleepy village of Beaulieu, the building is full of original features, such as beautiful dark beams, oak flooring, old brick fireplaces and paneled rooms, the feeling of authenticity you get when you’re inside is spine tingling.
With an elegant feel, The Montagu Arms is a fantastic place to inspire your wedding and its style. It’s a canvas of opportunity, allowing you to tie ideas you’ve already had with new ones which our stunning hotel can offer you.
This venue also has bright, fragrant and quintessential English gardens bursting with colour, infused with the scents of lavender and lemon verbena, the hotel grounds provides plenty of photographic opportunity. The Montagu Arms’ guests have included everyone from General de Gaulle to Sherlock Holmes’ creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Designed in the classic style of Gertrude Jekyll – that means plenty of little paths, hidden corners and beautiful blooms – our garden is the perfect outdoor backdrop.
With our Michelin-starred chef in charge the only difficulty is in deciding just what to serve for your wedding breakfast – a sumptuous buffet featuring classic favourites or exciting new flavours and dishes? Or a full-blown sit-down with as many courses as you’d like to eat? Whatever you decide, our chef, Matt Tomkinson, will make sure it is made from the freshest and best local ingredients that the New Forest and his own kitchen garden can provide.
For inspiration, look no further than the English Rose itself. Think blush or soft, buttery yellows, pale pink and the gentlest of creams for spring and summer ceremonies. Or maybe the soft lavenders and sage greens of the English country garden. For winter and autumn weddings, you can take a steer from the English rose too; check out the ruby red, deep magentas and ice white hues of the more dramatic blooms.
Think you’d like to take a look around and experience this New Forest wedding venue for yourself? You can arrange a personal viewing of The Montagu Arms at a time to suit you where our wedding co-ordinator Clara Earp can give you a guided tour and answer any questions you may have.
